Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Cars, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Police report they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Officers then located many other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state early analysis show the substance was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; authorities are presently not aware of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were working "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.
An important official stated the vandalism left him without words and required to be resolved quickly.
"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing attack five years ago," he stated on online, recalling the death of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
