I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former twice unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
